Toxic Footprints Part 3

Toxic Footprints Part 3

Iron Status: The Good, the Bad and the Ironic
An altered iron status may underlie almost all health conditions, from anemia to every cancer, disease, infection and toxicity. Sadly, the typical chemistry profile is gross lacking in the markers needed to make an iron status assessment – and even when a full iron assessment is required, clinicians are often confused about which markers to order and how to interpret the test results. All of this is addressed, along with an introduction of IHR’s Free Iron Risk Index (FIRI) to better assess the influence of acid pH on free iron risk.
